Free Photoshop Alternatives If you've ever wanted to put together a flier, update your website images, or simply create your own photo album (online or offline) no doubt the biggest hurdle you've had to overcome is how to edit your images. Sure you could spend hundreds of dollars on professional photo editing tools, but there is a better way... a FREE way. We've uncovered two professional-grade applications you can start using today. The first program is designed to be easy enough for beginners to use, but robust enough to catch the attention of professionals. Picnik (http://picnik.com) is an online photo editing application that allows you to resize, rotate, and adjust colors like a pro.
The second program is GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) [http://gimp.org]. This is software that lives on your computer and works with Windows, Macintosh and Linux. It has many of the same features as Photoshop including a customizable interface, and many pallets to help tweak your image.
